bio : emily is a 20-year old young lady who lives in one of her favorite cities in the world, los angeles, california. she attends the university of california, los angeles (commonly known as ucla), is now a third year student and now lives in los feliz. major: mass communication studies, minors: human complex systems and music history (ooOOooOoo). she is a freaky little thing, in the best possible way. she enjoys (among many other things), every and all types of music, movies and digital editing, theatre, singing/pretending she's going to start a band, fine arts (especially painting and sculpture), video games (console), mucking about with her computer/digital graphics, acting silly, riding horses, literature, writing, musicals, science fiction, and the color green. she is quite friendly, lovable, and nice when you get to know her (although that is a bit clique), and above all things, em (also known as 'emily') is incredibly ECLECTIC. she is also quite fond of lists of things, so you can be sure she'll find some time to put a bunch of them up here at some point in between all of her other eclectic activities.

we take full credit for the nagging pangs of doubt you are currently experiencing.

Why read a blog? Someone else's that is... it seems to me that there's always an expectation for the person reading a blog, which is "this better be interesting, or why else am I reading the daily log of some random person's life?". I guess it's a sort of 'Truman Show' mentality, taking comfort in the nuances of someone else's existence, but with the shear number of people with access to blogs and that sort of technology, there's just too much nuance to go around. I can see if you're reading a friend's blog (open-entry 'diary'), scouring the pages with a reference to yourself or someone else you know, but in the same way that 'The Real World' is an accurate portrayal of life, a blog is an accurate portrayal of someone's feelings, opinions, etc. It's a pseudo-science of accuracy, but I also think it gives people a sense of, I don't know, importance maybe? You're given a space on the limitless landmass of the world wide web, and told that if you write down how your day was, someone will read it and listen and understand you, and what's more, enjoy doing so.

Therefore, that's always in the back of your mind, that somewhere in some other time zone, someone is reading, listening to you. "How was your day, darling?" "Oh, fine, thank you so much for asking. This happened, that happened, shoutout to my homegirl who helped me with such-and-such (Because you have the link to your blog in your profile, you're sure your friend will read this), and I feel this way about that..." and so on and so forth. It's being distinctive in a world of anonymity, and that is a truly special feeling.

So what's the conclusion to this tirade of nonsense? I don't even really know if there is one, really, just something to pass the time. Plus, isn't college the time when you're supposed to be all philosophical and 'enlightened' and whatnot? Sure it is, and anyways, that's what I'm making it, and since this is MY blog, and I know you're all listening attentively, I'm sure you all agree.
"Yes, yes dear, that's exactly right." :)

Color: I'm happy. I don't particularly like yellow, but it's sunshine and happiness and all that good stuff.

" Let's all get up and dance to a song that was a hit before you're mother was born / Though she was born a long long time ago / Your mother should know / Your mother should know "
